Categories
Coastal: less than 6 miles from a shelter.
Ocean: more than 6 miles from a shelter (Concept of shelter unchanged).
There is no longer any concordance between the EC design categories, and the navigation categories.
The boater no longer chooses a category, but must be in possession of the mandatory equipment following the navigation.

- Lifebuoy + fire + harness
- Integrated harness
- 3 parachute rockets + 2 smoke
- 1 CI survival liferaft II or V (Optional / hom.CE | Lifetime 15 years, revision every 3 years)
- The raft is no longer “attached” to a ship (possibility of leasing or loan)
- If unsinkable: no change and dispatch from the liferaft without limit of distance
- Inflatable inflatable (by gas) auto or manual + tent (does not exist on the market for now)
